Yelagiri - Perfect for photography

Staying in Bangalore gives you good options to explore from high class to the total laid back places. Since I am a person who loves to sit back and relax at a non-popular place, around Bangalore or Bengaluru was the perfect place to explore.

 I went to north, east, west and south of the city to find each place exciting and giving a different experience. 

 Lets start with the east direction for now. Yelagiri is situated east of Bangalore in the state of Tamil Nadu. I found this place similar to Ooty but there was a different charm roaming around the place. There was something different about everything. The people, the architecture and the simple life a small hill station has to offer. 
Camera used - Sony Cybershot Dsc S650

 This camera was my companion for almost 4 years. It had a Sony lens which is less preferred over the carl zeiss, but as someone said, the best camera is the one you have already. 

 I am now using a Canon IXUS 145 and still thinking about when I will be able to afford a DSLR. However, Yelagiri is the place for photographers. If you like mine (with sony cam), you will love the one's clicked by professional cams.

How to reach - Best by road from Bangalore.  
Distance - 160 kms
Places to stay - Many
Best time to visit - I visited during the new year and April (Above photos time) and it was good.
Eat - Good restaurants are there. My suggestion - stick with the local cuisine. Always.

Again to a new jungle. This time we planned a trip to the dense forest of Melghat in Amravati district of Maharashtra. At last, took some time out to visit some place out of Nagpur. Shifted to Nagpur in May and didn't do much after that. Maybe because of settling down in Nagpur is taking longer than expected.   I was bored just sitting at one place enjoying the food. I decided to go to some place nearest to explore the possibilities for a night stay for the next time when I have time. So, this was just a day outing, not my style, but had to do something other than sitting at home on a Sunday morning.      Some facts about the place -   Distance from Nagpur - 60 km    Route Option 1 (longer route)-  Hyderabad road - take a turn towards Wardha after Buti Bori - travel to Selu, a small village - take right turn and you reach Bor National park after traveling 16 km.    Route Option 2 (60 km road) Travel from Hingna Road towards the village Hingni. Pench National Park / Karmazari

I am so excited for last two days having completed much awaited trip to Pench National Park. This is the place where people claim that Rudyard Kipling created the character Mowgli from the famous "The Jungle Book". Not sure if he wrote the story sitting in the jungle. Being 70 km from Nagpur, this becomes a perfect destination for a weekend getaway from Nagpur. Now 70 km is the first gate to the tiger sanctuary which is the Maharashtra part of the jungle. The Madhya Pradesh side of the jungle is around 100 km from Nagpur. Some people prefer one state jungle to the other for various reasons. The important one is the cost. Maharashtra side is much cheaper to stay and to go safari than the MP side. Amlatas Eco Hut I stayed at the Maharashtra side of the forest and loved the experience.
