Kemmengundi

Kemmengundi - A known place to Bangalore people for planning a perfect weekend destination. Though not known to the rest of India.

I am not sure how I end up at the places visited by less people and enjoy my time to the fullest. Kemmengundi is a small hill station near the Chikmagaluru  town and is around 250-270 kms from Bangalore.

Route - Bangalore - Tumakuru - Tiptur - Arsikere - Ligadahalli - Kemmengundi

I went there to relax and sit at the coffee plantation and look at the greenery. It was the perfect place to do nothing. And look what I found -

A perfect chair to do nothing. If you notice, we have the arm rest on the chair which go forward and become the foot rest. So here I was most of the time at the resort.

The resort was called Ozone Valley. It's a coffee plantation spread in acres of land. The rooms have basic amenities and are clean. The owner of the resort has kept a clean atmosphere for the guests.

And yes there are only three rooms, so booking has to be done in advance.
There are many more things that can done around there.

Morning walk - I personally have not enjoyed any other place for a morning walk than this plantation.

Here are some more photos of the place.

This is a dhaba (place to eat) on the way to Kemmengundi. The containers that contain water is buried half way under ground to keep the water cool.

A location at Kemmengundi where you can see the valley and small mountains.

This one of the highest peak of Kemmengundi.

There is a park located at the top of the hill. This photo shows Rama, Sita and Laxman from Ramayana. Not sure if they travelled through this place. Thanks to anyone who can reply.

A small water stream and a bridge in the park.

This the highest place at Kemmengundi. 4702 feet above sea level.

Sorry I don't have the photos of the actual crab curry made in coastal Karnataka (Mangalore) style.
