All about Semadoh Tourist Complex - MahaEcoTourism

Again to a new jungle. This time we planned a trip to the dense forest of Melghat in Amravati district of Maharashtra. I am going to list some important information which is never published or which I never came across. A lot of this information will be available in different places online. I am just trying to cover most of them in one place. How to reach from Nagpur  Take Amravati road from Nagpur > From Amravati , take a right towards Paratwada> And from Paratwada there are two routes. One goes directly to Melghat or Semadoh which is a small village at the gate of Melghat. Other route goes through Chikaldara but you have to travel 25 -3 km more. So if you can take any route based on your destination (Melghat or Chikaldara) Semadoh Semadoh is a small village where the tiger reserve starts. There are good food options if you tell them in advance. You can buy basic daily needs from the shops present in here. Water bottles, Tea, Cigarettes all are available. Water ...

Pench National Park / Karmazari

I am so excited for last two days having completed much awaited trip to Pench National Park. This is the place where people claim that Rudyard Kipling created the character Mowgli from the famous "The Jungle Book". Not sure if he wrote the story sitting in the jungle. Being 70 km from Nagpur, this becomes a perfect destination for a weekend getaway from Nagpur. Now 70 km is the first gate to the tiger sanctuary which is the Maharashtra part of the jungle. The Madhya Pradesh side of the jungle is around 100 km from Nagpur. Some people prefer one state jungle to the other for various reasons. The important one is the cost. Maharashtra side is much cheaper to stay and to go safari than the MP side. Amlatas Eco Hut I stayed at the Maharashtra side of the forest and loved the experience. At Nagpur, my house is located at a forest area and I enjoy the peace and calm of the nature. So this was not a big deal for me. But for my friends, Pench was a perfect place to unwin...
