Bor Dam

Image
At last, took some time out to visit some place out of Nagpur. Shifted to Nagpur in May and didn't do much after that. Maybe because of settling down in Nagpur is taking longer than expected.   I was bored just sitting at one place enjoying the food. I decided to go to some place nearest to explore the possibilities for a night stay for the next time when I have time. So, this was just a day outing, not my style, but had to do something other than sitting at home on a Sunday morning.      Some facts about the place -   Distance from Nagpur - 60 km    Route Option 1 (longer route)-  Hyderabad road - take a turn towards Wardha after Buti Bori - travel to Selu, a small village - take right turn and you reach Bor National park after traveling 16 km.    Route Option 2 (60 km road) Travel from Hingna Road towards the village Hingni. You will have to ask for directions, however its a straight road except for ...

Yelagiri - Perfect for photography

Image
A clean shot of the lake Staying in Bangalore gives you good options to explore from high class to the total laid back places. Since I am a person who loves to sit back and relax at a non-popular place, around Bangalore or Bengaluru was the perfect place to explore. I went to north, east, west and south of the city to find each place exciting and giving a different experience.  Lets start with the east direction for now. Yelagiri is situated east of Bangalore in the state of Tamil Nadu. I found this place similar to Ooty but there was a different charm roaming around the place. There was something different about everything. The people, the architecture and the simple life a small hill station has to offer.  Camera used - Sony Cybershot Dsc S650 This camera was my companion for almost 4 years. It had a Sony lens which is less preferred over the carl zeiss, but as someone said, the best camera is the one you have already.  I am now using a...

The actual farm house

Image
How many of you think after looking at a picture, "how would it be to stay here?" I do that a lot of times. How my life would be to stay at a place this this? Will I survive without the luxuries and the comfort of my apartment in the city? Here is one place which got me wondering - Stood there for a long time, thinking. The actual site was much more beautiful, which I could not capture due to a simple camera I am using.  Morning - Taking a walk on the shore of this small lake. Looking at the birds doing their daily chores.  Afternoon - Sit in shade and read a book that you love.  Night - Light a barbecue and enjoy your favorite drink with the kebabs being prepared.  Who needs a five star resort and chefs and servers when you yourself becomes the chief chef for the night. What do you think?  About the photo Place - Somewhere in between Hyderabad and Vikarabad.  Camera - Canon IXUS 145 (Point and shoot)

Breakfast at Shah Gouse, Tolichowki

Image
Oh man. Nothing beats a heavy breakfast in the morning.  Place - Tolichowki Restaurant - Shah Gouse Things to try -       1. Paya shorba with Sheermal roti      2. Nihari      3. Kheema & roti      4. Khichadi (with Paya or Nihari or Kheema) This place is not for the guys who like it clean. You get to share the table with other folks. However, the food experience is great.  Paya is the best I have ever had before. I have actually tried paya only at a couple of places and this tastes the best. How to eat, make small pieces of Sheermal roti and put it in the bowl containing the Paya. And eat. As simple as that.  Nihari is nothing but the non meat version of Paya. (Vegetarians - Do not try Nihari as even this is made using mutton taking the pieces out only at the end) Kheema - I can't say its the best, but who else makes it for the breakfast. Let me know if you know any other place better....

Papnash temple 4. Tombs Out of all, I love the papnash temple. Here are some of the pics. I am not going to write much. It's like a photo blog. Maybe heaven Not sure what this was. Looked like a natural spring inside.  The temple is not the only attraction. If you drive around in this area, you will feel like you are in some national park. I was lucky to find a peacock during my last visit there in September 2014. Here it is.  Here are some more random pics of Papnash surroundings- Sai baba temple nearby ...
